A very interesting Glenmorangie, it was aged in bourbon casks before being finished in a 1st fill Malaga wood Butts. Aged for a total of 12 years and picked under the supervision of master distillers Bill Lumsden. The Glenmorangie Malaga stands out a little from the usual extra-matured line in terms of alcohol content: in August 2020, it was bottled at 47.3 percent ABV. Pleasant, rich aromas of butter, toffee and baking bread with aromatic tea leaves are on the nose. Subtle notes, accompanied by milk chocolate, with subdued herbs and red fruits. Notes of oak, frankincense, roasted chestnuts and whole cane sugar are released.
