This 2017 release of the Gran Reserva is bottled as a 15 year old for the very first time. Matured for the most part in first-fill sherry seasoned European oak casks.

The casks are tended to and prepared by Macallan’s in-house Master of Wood before being transferred into the care of their Master Distiller for filling and being set down to mature for 15 years.

The 2017 Gran Reserva was released exclusively to successful entrants of an online ballot, and strictly limited to one per customer. The bottle count is rumoured to be just 1500, making this rarer than both the in-demand Coronation and Diamond Jubilee releases.
